Hello! Welcome to J. Rose Bath Co. Founded by me, Jillian Janecka.

I am the maker here at J. Rose Bath Co. I'm married with two children, and we live in Fredericksburg Texas.

It all started two years ago... well maybe a bit longer than that. Growing up I always loved baths. I loved bubble baths, bath foam and those dangerous bath oil balls from the 90's! Then as an adult, I found bath bombs. We only had a small tub but I was hooked. My dream was to have a big soaker tub to enjoy them in, and two years ago I finally got that tub. I was all set to have baths any time I wanted when my favorite bath bombs kept getting discontinued! Rude. So out of pure frustration I set out to find some to replace my favorite big "natural" brand bath bombs.

I looked for handmade bath bombs, but was honestly nervous to put my trust in a small maker (which may be why you are here reading about THIS small maker). How would I know the bath bomb was safe? What made a bath bomb safe? How do you even make a bath bomb?!

I had all of these questions and decided to do some research, and boy did I fall down a rabbit hole! I joined Facebook groups, I read books, blogs, Pinterest posts... and then I got scared. There was SO much to learn and it seemed so complicated. How could I trust something someone else made, did they know what they were doing? I saw a lot of people online who actually didn't and some of them even sold their products! So, being the control freak I am, I decided I would just do it myself. And if I was going to do it myself, I was going to do it right!

I took classes, I read more books, I did hours of research on ingredients and suppliers, and then I made my first bath bombs. And they actually came out OK. But I wanted more, so for the next year I experimented with different recipes and tweaking them here and there. I tried different molds and fragrances. I got my formula down to something I'm really happy with! They create beautiful foam, feel moisturizing and leave my skin feeling wonderful. And best of all, they don't stain me, or the tub! No dangerous oil slicks and no mess to clean up afterwards, just a quick rinse and we're good to go.

I had a recipe I was happy with and loved to use, but I really also just loved the process of making. Creating a product from raw ingredients was a thrilling experience. I fully caught the maker bug, and then I fell further down the rabbit hole...

I found cold process soap. It looked so beautiful. I purchased a few bars from reputable makers, I watched countless YouTube videos of people making soap. And I wanted to try it. So I took more courses, read MORE books, did as much research as I could until I actually made my first batch of soap. And it also came out OK. But like with bath bombs, I wanted more. I experimented with formulations, different oils, water discounts, colorants and additives. I made A LOT of soap. But I really fell in love with making products that others could use and enjoy.

Now here I am, another year later and I have some recipes that I am really proud of. Some beautiful bath bombs, really lovely soaps and a binder full of formulas for other fun products that I am excited to share.

I created J. Rose Bath Co. so I could share my love of making. Creating high quality products, with great ingredients that are safe and made safely. I want to make products that you can be confident to use yourself and gift to others. Products that feel special.
